Tanzania na Kilimo began as a simple idea sparked in 2015 when Imani Lubaba, the founder and president, was in Morogoro during his field practical as an Agricultural Extension Officer. It was during this time that a transformative idea was born—an idea that would later grow into one of the leading platforms supporting farmers across Tanzania and Africa.
The story of Tanzania na Kilimo starts with a gift from Imani's father—a laptop that would change everything. With this laptop in hand, Imani decided to put his passion for agriculture and his vision of supporting farmers into action. He began writing articles that offered advice, shared insights, and educated farmers about better agricultural practices. His articles were designed not only to inform but to empower, creating a bridge between farmers and the wealth of knowledge they needed to succeed.
What began as a blog in 2015 slowly transformed into something bigger. The blog, fueled by Imani's unwavering commitment to agriculture and his vision to make a real difference, began to attract attention. Farmers started engaging with the platform, seeking advice, solutions, and inspiration. In 2021, Tanzania na Kilimo officially evolved into a comprehensive online platform. The transition from a simple blog to a fully-fledged agricultural platform was driven by Imani’s experiences, knowledge, and academic background. Having graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Tourism Management from Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) in 2021, along with a Diploma in General Agriculture and a Certificate in Business Administration, Imani was equipped with the academic and practical expertise to scale the vision into something impactful.
Tanzania na Kilimo is not just a platform; it is a movement. A movement that strives to connect farmers with the best agricultural inputs, knowledge, and market opportunities. It aims to create sustainable farming practices that ensure long-term success for farmers and contribute to the broader goal of economic development across Tanzania and Africa.
